Dr. Wade Elliott

Wade Elliott, BSc, MD, CCFP, Dip. Sport Med.

Dr. Wade Elliott graduated from the medical programme at McMaster University in 1997 and completed his residency in family medicine and orthopedics in 2000. He completed his Diploma in Sport Medicine (CASM) in 2001 following a sport medicine fellowship at McMaster University. Dr. Elliott opened the Levy Elliott Sports Medicine Clinic in 2001 to bring a high performance multidisciplinary sports medicine clinic to the Halton region. Dr. Elliott enjoys working with athletes of all ages, both recreational and elite to prevent and treat injuries and help athletes stay active. Dr. Elliott has a particular interest in osteoarthritis and sports participation and currently is involved in research in this area.

In addition, Dr. Elliott is currently chair of the Hamilton Sports and Musculoskeletal Physician Group in Hamilton as well as Member at Large on the Ontario Medical Association Section on Sports Medicine. He is actively involved in the education of medical students, family medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation and emergency residents. In addition, he is co-chair of the McMaster University Primary Care Sports Medicine Program.

Dr. Elliott is also involved in a many sports as a physician and currently is a Team Physician with the world champion Toronto Rock Professional Lacrosse Team and is a former team physician with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Dr. Elliott also was medical director of McMaster Varsity Football team from 2001-2004. Dr. Elliott is also involved with event coverage for both national and international events and past event coverage includes the National and World Cycling Championships in 2003 and Chief Medical Officer for the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in 2003.
